Burger King scores a strong 4 out of 5. The food at this BK location is standard. This location looks like all other BKs in the area. The staff got my order done quickly (20 nuggets), for a reasonable price (~$3) because of the promo 10nuggets/$1.49. JCPenney in Farmington, CT

JCPenney is awarded a formidable 4 out of 5. JCPenny has a lot to offer: men’s, ladies, kids clothes, and furniture and household items. This particular visit, I was looking for a suit. I found one, off the rack, and it fit great. In true form, there was a sale and coupons that made the price much more reasonable. Also, I did not know my shirt size, but the assistant took one look at me and guessed spot on. I was pretty happy with the service. I did try to use a second coupon on clearance items, but it would not go through even though the coupon didn’t explicitly state clearance was exempt. Sbarro in Farmington, CT

Sbarro is bestowed a powerful 4 out of 5. I haven’t eaten at a Sbarro for about six years before my visit. I was generally impressed with the food. The interior of the restaurant was pretty bland, but the food and ordering area was nice. $8.50 for 2 large slices and a regular drink seemed a bit steep to me, but I don’t usually eat pizza in a mall. New Britain Museum of American Art is bestowed a formidable 4 out of 5. The New Britain Museum of American Art is one of New Britain’s hidden treasures. This upscale art gallery has recently undergone renovations and houses a large collection of unique art, statues, and sculptures. You can easily spend many hours at this gallery and still miss big sections. On my visit, there was an entire section dedicated to Salvador Dali, and a few artsy things going on. My review of Westfarms in West Hartford, CT

Westfarms is awarded a great 4 out of 5. The west farms mall in west Hartford has many shops, including a JCPenny, two Macy’s, a Microsoft store, Lego store, and more. There is no dedicated food court, but you can find little pockets of eateries in a few different spots. These include a California pizza kitchen, a Sbarro, au bon pain, dunkin donuts, and a couple smaller or fancier places. Burger King is bestowed a formidable 4 out of 5. This is the first time in years that I’ve dined inside a BK. The aesthetic has changed dramatically, if this location is a template for the rest. Many unique eating areas inside, tables and chairs are interesting. Bright, clean, and friendly staff. Huntington State Park in Redding, CT

Huntington State Park is bestowed an outstanding 5 out of 5. Small parking lot was crowded, I had to wait about 15 mins for a spot to open up. The trails were muddy per the warm winter we’ve had.
